BEAU DOG'S PET PEEVES
Meet Beau.
ABOUT INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR BEAU
When Dad was an owner operator, long haul truck driver, he was lonely after weeks on the road. Mom rescued me when I was 1 and I became Dads Trucking Supervisor. The traveling tails of Beau, boy do we have some stories. It was important for me to earn my keep, and I'm like Dad, i pay attention to details. I became Load Supervisor. I inspected each load, double checking that Dad strapped each load safely on his trailer. My goal is safety for Dad and others who are on the road traveling along side him.
Mom & Dad said we were moving full time into the RV. I was so excited, knowing I'd be spending more time with Mom and she loves to take me on walks and gives me treats when Dad's not looking. Don't tell Dad, cause I really love that Mom spoils me.
Dad & Mom are busy with Blue Ox RV Inspection, so I decided once again, I should contribute or at least look like I'm doing something, other than chasing squirrels.
My new venture is Beau's Pet Peeves! I was thinking of all the pet owners out there that need some tips from a furry friend. Maybe 1 idea will make another 4 legged friend happy!!
1ST PET PEEVE ESCAPE DOGS
This is my sister Zoey, Mom and Dad adopted her when she was only 8 weeks old. She was a good girl, but she always liked to wonder and meet new people. This is my PET PEEVE! We can't tell anyone our names or phone numbers. My sister took off into the streets of Bath Maine while Mom was visiting her best friend. Mom was scared to death. It didn't end there. It happened numerous times. I would hear my Mom and Dad say "I think Zoey is looking for a new forever home". I told Mom and Dad we need to have our name and phone number on our collar!! They ordered our collars right before leaving on vacation. Zoey and I were staying with our Auntie in Florida. Mom had a phone call from an unknown caller, this man had my sister at a baseball game. She had snuck under the fence, ran several miles to a local school event. She loved to socialize and eat snacks, so she sniffed her way through busy streets without getting hurt. Please get your family pet a collar with their name on it. You'll be glad you did! My sister crossed the rainbow bridge when she was 14, I'm sure she's still searching for her forever home and meeting new friends.
VETERINARIAN APPOINTMENTS
Now that I'm a traveling entrepreneur, going to my vet appointments is easy peasy on the road. Mom and Dad got me hooked up with Banfield's. You can find them at most PetSmart stores across the country. Its really nice, they all use the same computer system and know exactly what shots I've had or if I need any. Have you heard of "The Traveling Tails of Beau"? That's my blog, its all the stories of places we travel. This is the reason Mom and Dad chose Banfield's. Now where ever we travel, the can be sure to get me to the vets if I need to.
GROOMING PET PEEVE
As a business owner of Beau's Pet Peeves, I must look professional. This is my preferred look, but my Mom and Dad say that I look like a gnarly teenager. My mom is a cosmetologist, but she's not a groomer. There is a big difference working on humans, according to her. It works for me, because I'm not a fan of getting baths anyways. Full time RV living has its perks for me, my hair can get quite long before we come across a city with a PetSmart. This is Mom and Dad's choice. PetSmart keeps a record of all my shots, so we don't have to show a copy each time we use a new groomer. PetSmart always have wonderful groomers who love me and my spa experience is amazing! I highly recommend them!
BEDDING PET PEEVE
Work hard, play hard and sleep hard! I'm a firm believer in getting my beauty rest. As a matter of fact, I nap all day long and I'm still ready for bed every night. I feel bad for the pups that have to sleep on the hard floor. My brother Max, was a Bouvier des Flanders. One thing I know, he loved a cold, cement floor. Not me...I like plush and comfy! Mom and Dad get me fluffy beds, just like their mattress. Where ever they put my bed, I know exactly where to take my naps. Its a tough job managing The Traveling Tails of Beau, but someone must do it!
JEEP HAIR DON'T CARE, BUT SAFETY MATTERS!!
Mom and Dad love to take me out on Jeep excursions. Can you see my crate? I always feel bad for pets that ride in the back of trucks with no safety harnesses. I'm so glad my parents worry about my safety. They have a roll bar on their jeep, but they seat belt my little crate securely in the back. My bed fits inside the crate, so I have a soft ride. They have taken me on many jeep trails, not for the faint of heart. That's a story for another day, on The Traveling Tails of Beau. I'll tell you later....
WHAT'S YOUR PET PEEVE WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD?
My pet peeve is simple....just feed me at 8 am and 5 pm!! I don't care what you feed me!! Mom and Dad want me to eat a good, healthy diet. They chose Pro Plan when my sister Zoey was getting older. Our Vet said this would be a great food choice for us and it's convenient to find. Living in an RV, we have less space to storing extra bags. Finding my food is as easy as finding a PetSmart or Petco!
SLIPPERY WHEN WET ~ ALUMINUM STAIRS
As a human, have you walked on these Cold, Wet, Aluminum stairs in your bare feet? I'm kind of small and I don't like my paws to touch the metal steps. They are slippery when wet. Dad installed carpet, wow that made a huge difference for me. Now I don't mind leaving the RV. I hope this tip helps your 4 legged family member.
